MISSION

To promote the interests of its member laboratories and to gain recognition for their services and to ensure the acceptable quality thereof.

• Establishment and maintenance of standard analytical methods.
• Promotion of the use of standard analytical methods.
• Rationalization of methods and analytical services if necessary.
• Supporting and/or instituting analytical quality assurance schemes and inter-calibration exercises.
• Promotion of accreditions of member laboratories.

Although AgriLASA is not allied to any body, it will not operate in an arbitrary fashion, or in isolation, but will where necessary, voluntarily supply information and render co-operation.

• Regular liaison with interested parties, member laboratories and other organizations.
• Standardization and quality assurance.
• Organization of suitable gatherings (workshops, congresses, symposia and courses).

Currently these consist of the following:

1. Plants
2. Soil
3. Fertilizer
4. Feed
5. Water

The sub-committees meet at least twice a year to discuss and co-ordinate matters concerning the specific discipline and report back during council meetings.

Certificates are issued annually, to member laboratories that have complied with the standards prescribed by the council in respect of participation in the quality assurance programmes and quality analysis.
